Re: Should Have known Better

They both have their advantages and disadvantages, to make a hull like a GW out of aluminum would be cost prohibitive, aluminum is great but it is not the answer to every boaters needs.

Re: Deadrise and bow entry angles???

Mac...always liked those boats  How do the 150's push her? It goes pretty good with the 150s, get around 2mpg at 27mph or so at 3500rpm, tops out around 45mph. I have heard several people have repowered them with a pair of 200 HPDIs, it must fly with those motors. I really like the boat, ...

Re: Deadrise and bow entry angles???

I have a 1988 24' Northcoast, it has a 54 degree entry and 23.5 degree at the stern, it has a 9' 2" beam, it is very heavy and deep.
It rides ok but it still bumps and bounces in 2' to 3' chop. Not sure what the magic combo is for a good riding boat.

Re: 29' Pacific For Sale

Drove up and looked at this boat today, it is something else. I took a few pictures, I was hoping it would work as a family boat but after looking at it would not work for me, wish they could make that boat as an express, as it is the cabin has room for 5 but the toilet is in the middle of the rear ...

I have always liked those boats, they are thinner alloy but the folds they form into them make them pretty rigid. Still be a great boat and last forever if taken care of, is it self bailing?

Re: FWC Outboard !

Interesting idea but I think they have advanced corrosion protection enough that it is really not an issue anymore. I would imagine there are some benefits to being able to run at a steady temp but they seem to have that worked out as well, I think it would add another layer of complexity to outboar...

Re: Bottom paint or no?

Bought from a private owner not dealer. I have a hard top do you guys rinse out the interior of the cabin/console after removing electronics? Is there any specific detergent or cleaner that is most effective? I have found Salt Terminator to leave the boat much cleaner than just fresh water rinsing ...

You should not need to bottom paint it with that type of use, where did you purchase your Pacific?

Re: The Power of a .454

I have a Super Redhawk .454, I like the fact that I can shoot it at the indoor range in the winter with .45 colt rounds. I have shot the 500 at S&W, it feels to me like a much sharper recoil than the 454. I can not imagine there is any instance where a .454 could not get the job done but the 500...

Could you just have a bracket made to mount the new motors on and have the plate where it attaches to the boat just cover all those holes and be welded to the clean metal?

Wow the boat looks great, seems a shame to paint it again, the hoist looks really useful, did you build that?
Any more info on the boat, I read a the thread when you repowered it.

Took the boat out for another little ride today, filled it up with fuel went about 35 miles since last fillup, took 5 gallons. Wind picked up this afternoon had to be a good 2' chop coming into the dock. Here is also a picture of the seat area I mentioned, the storage box is almost the same height a...

Sebago lake ME

Rented a house on Sebago lake in ME for a week. Took the boat out for a 20 mile ride today to Jordan bay and around Frye island, nice lake, this is the first time we have rented a house on it. The Workskiff created quite a bit of interest at the launch ramp. Saw some pretty big cruisers and a couple...

Nice looking boat, Pembroke is up there. Wonder if the owner brought it from the west coast, I have called Pacific a couple times and they always refer me to Jay at BLM, be surprised if Pacifc would have sold it to someone on the east coast.
