Re: 26 supertop engine choice

I just got my 26ST with a Honda 225. I live in Hawaii and fish some pretty rough seas and it seems a well matched pair for the way I use the boat. Compared to my 23ft Boston Whaler with twin 130s, it is slower to plane and tops out about 3 knots slower in the bay. On my first day trolling though, I ...

Re: Pacific 26 ST with fighting chair

Including fuel surcharges, almost $9300 for shipping from seattle to Hawaii. I could have saved 3000 by towing it to California where Matson has some competition, but logistics did not work out.

Re: Pacific 26 ST with fighting chair

Boat will be used in Hawaii--mostly out of Hilo on the Big Island. This is the windward side . We often fish 10 foot mixed swells and are alway hoping to hook 100 + Tuna or large Bill fish. I has Pacific build the boat around the chair. I left it to them how to attach it, and looks like from the pic...

26ST

Besides the chair, the customizations I asked for where eliminatingthe below deck box for a head, and eliminating the forward seat--this allowed them to set the console forward enough to allow ample room for the chair. Cleats and fuel cap must be standard now.

Pacific 26 ST with fighting chair

Boat has been completed and is pending shipping to Hawaii. The boat will be named "Ada Lee" after the lady holding the rainbow http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3183/2870808970_508d8ded0c_o.jpg http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3180/2869978813_7bae7f6d2b_o.jpg http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3277...

26ST fighting chair

In the pic the foot rest is fully extended. I plan to keep the foot rest stowed away under the console most of the time to keep more room around the transom. If we hook up a "grander" we will get it out and slip it on for the hour to two hour fight it takes on those. I considered the fight...

Before giving up on the fouled injector theory, make sure you have put the proper ratio of cleaner to fuel--cleaner is sold to add to 20 gal, so if you have 100 gal fuiel, you have to add 5 bottles.

honda 130

I had two Honda 130's on my last boat, and they did something similar, but also idled rough. I added some Chevron fuel injector cleaner to the gas, and it cleared it up.

powder coat finish

For any of you with a Pacific center console that was powder coated white at the factory, I would ask how is the finish working out? I am starting a 26ST and considering leaving the console gray--I don't want to have to deal with waxing or fixing scratches and dings to make it look better. Only conc...

counter rotating engine

In planning my next boat, I have been offered a "deal" on a new, but old stock 2006 Honda motor with counter rotating prop--apparently ordered for a dual engine application that did not happen. The discount offered is attractive. Can any of you suggest a reason to be worried/concerned--i.e...

brass housings

As I am planning my 26ST now, will take your input into serious consideration. What about the brass housings? I thought any copper containing metal can create some real electroylisis issues.

fighting chair

Here in Hawaii, while most of the fish we catch are in the 40lb range, we are alway hoping for the 100-200 lb yellow fin, or a 200+ blue marlin. These fish take so much line on their first run, you can be easily spooled on 9-0 and smaller reels, so we tend to use 12-0 or bigger reels. The weight of ...

fighting chair

I am starting to plan a 26ST Pacific. I live in Hawaii and we are generally fishing for 40-150 lb fish, ono, mahi, and yellow fin. I think I would like to have a fighting chair built in, but have not seen any pics of an alloy boat with one. Any thoughts or suggestions?

Have you had a chance to spend a day out when it is hot yet? I am curious how hot the WA cabin might be.
