Re: WeldCraft Angler

Nothing on this boat or similar models (i.e. Duckworth 18 ft)? Need to make a decision in January if I want it for the spring? Thank you!

Re: Pacific Boats

I'll second Julie as a good reference. When I was looking at the Pacific V1925, she hooked me up with a guy in the area (Metro Detroit) who had one. I was able to set things up with him and go look at the boat. In turn, when I had mine; a guy from Indiana came up to look my boat (through Julie).

WeldCraft Angler

I am giving serious consideration to ordering a WeldCraft 18 ft Angler. However, there are a couple of things that give me pause: 1. I primarily fish in Lake Erie (Western Basin) and it can get choppy out there. I'll be able to pick my days, but you still get caught out there when it gets bouncy. Wa...

Re: 20ft pacific skiff

Once I learned how to attack the swells and waves I dried out quite a bit but yes , straight into them with a a wind equals wet. One can now get a small spray rail extrusion when ordering a new boat which helps a lot to keep the spray down. And remember, there are no dry boats, just some ...

Re: 20ft pacific skiff

I have a nineteen footer (bought new in 2012) and while short on creature comforts, its got it where it counts. It has a good ride when compared to the other aluminum boats that I've owned (i.e. Lund, Crestliner). If you're ordering, I second the idea of a spray rail. I maxed out on the engine (150 ...

Re: My Great Lakes Pacific

Looks great, how many hours do you have on her now? Hey Marshall, how are you doing? Somehow I missed your post; getting old I guess. Actually, not many. Probably less than 50 hours. I had ACL Surgery last summer and family business has limited my time this year. Maybe next year. You get...

Re: My Great Lakes Pacific

You're right Chaps; manufacturer's such as Lund predominate in my neck of the woods. I've gotten some positive reviews at the boat ramp. It does garner some attention. If only it was from pretty girls..... The pretty girls like the sunshine of FL and the pastel plastic boats...but little do they kn...

Thanks Chaps; here's a few pictures from our Perch trip this past weekend on Lake Erie. I also use my boat on Lake Huron.

My Great Lakes Pacific

This if my 19 footer (bought new in 2012). I see they quit making this model. That's too bad, it's a nice boat!

Re: Hull Pitting Under Trailer Bunks

Does this only occur when the boat/trailer are used in salt water? I'm looking into a new Pacific and would be using it in fresh water (Lake Erie). I've owned both roller and bunk trailers in the past and would prefer a bunk.
Thanks,
Jeff

Re: Black Lab Marine

Jeff, Yes I have trim tabs on my boat.I did not have them put on when I ordered my boat. After 2 seasons I broke down and installed a set of lenco's.This was a great move, the boat handles 100% better with the tabs.I would highly recomend them. When running in various wave conditions you can hold the...

Re: Black Lab Marine

Jettywolf: Great video, thanks alot for sharing. I'll have to ask them about opening up the gunnel boxes. I was wondering about rod storage. What length bow deck do you have? I know they come in 3, 4 or 5 feet. That one's full height, right? I like the access hatch you have in the transom. Is that a...

Re: Black Lab Marine

Jeff, Here's my advice: If you love to fish, kill lots of fish, and fish often, the 1925 is one hell of a boat. Expensive, but well worth it, IMO. No fluff, just a very solid and capable fishing platform. If you are planning on trolling for salmon or any species of fish on the great lakes, you won'...

Re: Black Lab Marine

Here is the little guy working on a halibut in the 19.. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a2huhyihclg Thanks Kelper, that's a great video! It also gives me a little more of an idea what the cockpit is like. I haven't actually seen one yet but I'm working on it. Not many Pacific boats in my neck of the...

Re: Black Lab Marine

Hi Jeff, I was just talking to Aaron from Black Lab yesterday afternoon. He told me the prices came way down. BUT you have to chase your own trailer & motor. Pacific will ship the boat directly to the marina you choose. He is e-mailing me the up-dated price guide in a couple of weeks along with...

Re: Black Lab Marine

Thanks MacCTD; I would be very interested in seeing some pictures and I'm sure I'll have questions to ask when I get the chance. Is sending a PM the best way to do this? I appreciate your interest to help.

Re: Black Lab Marine

MacCTD: As I mentioned in my initial post, I've just started a new job. I'm in the research stage right now so it'll probably be at least a few months before I start getting serious. I have to make sure my new job is going to work out before investing in a boat. Your boat looks in really good shape....

In answer to your questions: 1. Did you talk to Jay? I was told Jay is no longer a Pacific boats dealer and works primarily with Rock Salt Alloy Boats. 2. Pacific Boats, talk to Julie . 888-658-7111? That sounds like a good idea but according to the Pacific Boats website, Black Lab Marine is their d...

Black Lab Marine

First a little background. I'm a first time poster who lives in Michigan (Detroit area). I have just gone through an extended layoff and I'm looking to replace my boat which was a casualty of my unemployment (2002 Grady White Tournament 223). A few years back, I had spoken with Jay Perrotta about a ...
